Resilienceapac – Singapore Intergenerational initiatives are taking a bold step forward with the planned development of the Singapore Intergenerational Community Hub in Bedok North. Set to replace the existing Kampong Chai Chee Community Centre, this new facility is designed to become a vibrant focal point for community engagement, offering a variety of spaces tailored to the needs of residents of all ages. By integrating modern amenities with communal spaces, the project aims to strengthen bonds across generations while fostering creativity, learning, and social interaction.
The Singapore Intergenerational Hub is envisioned as more than just a typical community center. The facility will feature a shared kitchen for home-based businesses, a cat therapy center, a community garden, a podcast recording studio, and co-working spaces. These multifunctional areas cater to diverse interests and encourage collaboration between different age groups. For instance, the community garden will allow seniors to mentor younger generations in sustainable gardening practices. While the podcast studio provides a platform for residents to share stories and ideas, bridging gaps between youth and elders.

One of the primary goals of the Singapore Intergenerational Hub is to enhance intergenerational relationships within the Bedok North community. By creating spaces where young adults, families, and seniors can interact regularly, the hub promotes mutual understanding and respect. The hub will offer programs and workshops to encourage learning exchanges, mentorship, and skill-sharing, fostering a sense of belonging among all residents. These initiatives will actively strengthen community cohesion and enhance overall well-being.
The Singapore Intergenerational Hub also aims to improve the overall quality of life for the local community beyond its social functions. Residents will benefit from access to recreational, educational, and wellness programs that support both physical and mental health. The co-working spaces and shared kitchen provide opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation. While the creative and therapeutic facilities enhance leisure and relaxation. By bringing people together in a supportive environment, the hub embodies a holistic approach to community development. Ensuring that every generation can thrive.
