Resilienceapac – Gen Z Faces Rising concerns as new research reveals that young people across Asia-Pacific are increasingly at risk of mental health issues. A 2024 survey by Naluri found that 66% of Gen Z individuals those born between 1997 and 2012 fall into the high-risk category. This represents a 10% increase compared to the previous year, raising alarm among policymakers, educators, and healthcare providers. The findings underline a growing crisis in a generation already grappling with economic pressures, rapid technological change, and social uncertainty.

The report offers detailed insights into how risk levels vary across nations in the region. In Indonesia, 56% of Gen Z are at high risk, marking a steep 17% rise from last year. The Urgent Need for Action and Awareness

Experts emphasize that the survey should serve as a wake-up call. Gen Z Faces Rising risks not only threaten individual well-being but could also have long-term consequences for workforce productivity and social stability. Mental health programs, digital campaigns, and early interventions in schools are seen as critical steps to address the growing crisis. Governments are being urged to invest in community support systems, expand access to professional help, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Without decisive action, the risk is that these alarming trends will persist, further burdening healthcare systems across Asia-Pacific.

Gen Z Faces Rising challenges that highlight the urgent need for cross-border collaboration and innovative solutions. The survey’s findings paint a sobering picture, but they also present an opportunity for the region to prioritize mental well-being as a fundamental component of public health.
