A Regional Leader in Sustainability

Thailand Leads ASEAN through its national commitment to sustainable growth. Rooted in the “Sufficiency Economy Philosophy” introduced by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. This guiding principle emphasizes balance, moderation, and long-term resilience values that continue to shape Thailand’s development strategies.

Notable progress includes improvements in poverty reduction, quality education, universal health coverage, and clean energy access. These outcomes reflect coordinated efforts between government, civil society, and the private sector. Making Thailand a standout performer among ASEAN peers.

Driving Regional Collaboration

As Thailand Leads ASEAN in SDG performance, the country has also expressed its readiness to support regional partners. Minister Maris stated that Thailand is open to sharing its best practices. Data frameworks, and policy tools to help accelerate ASEAN’s collective SDG goals.

“We believe sustainable development is not a competition, but a shared mission,” he said during his address. “Thailand is committed to leading by example and by collaboration.”

The recognition at HLPF 2025 is more than symbolic; it reflects Thailand’s growing influence in shaping Southeast Asia’s sustainable future. With just five years remaining to meet the 2030 targets, Thailand’s leadership sends a strong message. That regional progress is possible when vision, policy, and partnership align.
