
Resilienceapac – Taiwan Bets Big on the future of artificial intelligence with the launch of its boldest national tech initiative to date a $510 billion commitment toward building cutting-edge AI infrastructure. Dubbed the “Ten Major AI Infrastructure Projects,” the initiative is set to unfold over the next 15 years, positioning Taiwan as a serious global contender in the AI race.
With total funding of T$15 trillion (around USD 510 billion) planned through 2040. Taiwan aims to make strategic leaps in key technologies such as silicon photonics, quantum computing, and AI robotics. The government is also allocating $3 billion for venture investments to accelerate innovation among startups and tech companies. Beyond technology, the government plans to generate over 500,000 new jobs and establish three global AI research labs.
This major initiative reflects Taiwan’s broader ambition to transition from a manufacturing powerhouse into a global center for advanced technology and research. Silicon photonics will allow faster, more energy-efficient data processing a game-changer in AI hardware. In parallel, quantum technologies and robotics are expected to drive breakthroughs in sectors such as healthcare, automation, and cybersecurity.

These centers will host joint projects with leading institutions in deep learning, robotics, and quantum science expanding Taiwan’s footprint in the international tech community.
